e-Photon/ONe Network

e-Photon/ONe is a Network of Excellence (NoE) in the European Commission's Information Society Technology (IST) programme. NoE's are intended to develop technical excellence in particular areas by promoting integration of resources and expertise. 

e-Photon/ONe targets network and system-oriented aspects of optically enabled broadband. As such, it is focussed on the Broadband for All (BREAD) objectives of the IST programme. 

Mechanisms which are being used to develop integration include exchanges of staff and students, the establishment of Virtual Departments and Joint Projects to encourage interactions between researchers with related interests, and the execution of Joint Experiments. 

Participation in the NoE is allowing us to develop both new and existing links with meeting colleagues with similar and complimentary research interests in universities and companies throughout Europe. 

Specific responsibilities within the Ultra-fast Photonics Laboratory include the organisation of the programme of Joint Experiments within the NoE.
