The purpose of the Converged Networks and Systems Laboratory (CONNET) is to create a collaborative research environment for integrated networks research, drawing together our already leading research groups in communications. The CONNET lab encompasses the research that is currently carried out in access network technologies both fixed and mobile, sensor networks, and core networks. This laboratory is used to test and develop systems and technologies in these areas, most importantly, allowing for integration of these separate network elements and provide a shared test and measurement infrastructure and test-bed facility. Such a facility enables us to focus on the key challenges of convergence and de-layering in future interoperable networks and systems. The advanced network test-bed in laboratory also serves as a platform for testing and verification of next generation services at the network layer.
