Postgraduate Support Scheme
Masters Bursaries worth £10,000 each available for UK and EU applicants for September 2015 start.
UCL has been awarded around 340 bursaries of £10,000 each as part of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE)'s 2015 Postgraduate Support Scheme.
The aim of this scheme is to encourage students from under-represented groups to embark on a postgraduate qualification and is funded jointly by HEFCE and UCL.
This is a one-off opportunity for UK/EU students graduating in summer 2015, having been charged the higher rate of tuition fees starting in 2012/13, and applying to study a postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2015.
The scheme covers all full taught Master's programmes offered at UCL - you can find a list of taught programmes on the Graduate Prospectus website.
To be eligible to apply for an award, candidates must meet all the eligibility criteria and apply by the deadline of 29 March 2015. A full list of eligibility criteria, as well as application materials and more information, can be found on the UCL Scholarships and Funding website.
Fleming Scholarship for MSc Studies
5 scholarships of £4,000 are available for home/EU students
The Fleming Scholarship is named after the first head of our Department here at UCL, Sir John Ambrose Fleming, who is often known as the 'father of modern electronics' for his invention of the thermionic valve.
The scholarship is awarded to the student entering the department with the best school/college examination performance, who qualifies for UK/EU fees status. Where there is a tie, the scholarship is awarded to the student who first accepted our offer unconditionally, a good reason to be prompt in decision making!
In addition to the prestige that comes with the award, there is also significant money - £4,000. 5 scholarships will be given to home/EU students with £2000 given on enrolment and a further £2000 given later in the year provided that a distinction is achieved in the work assessed during term 1.
All new students will be considered - no need to apply specifically.
