Rachid Bouziane

Biography

Rachid Bouziane is a post-doctoral research fellow at the optical networks group, University College London (UCL), UK. He received his MEng (first class honours) and PhD degrees in Electronic Engineering from UCL in 2008 and 2013, respectively. His PhD research was on hardware design of real-time optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transceivers based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) and application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) implementations.

He had two short-term research fellowships with Intel Labs Pittsburgh in 2009 and 2010 and was a visiting research fellow at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, in 2012 and at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, in 2009-2010. Prior to this, he worked as a hardware engineer with Nokia UK Ltd in 2007, and as an electronic engineer intern with Xyratex Technology Ltd, UK, in 2006. He has published over 25 journal and conference publications.

His research interests are in the areas of digital signal processing, optical communications, and hardware design of real-time systems.
