Awarded to UCL's Dr John Morton

Dr John Morton, Reader in Nanoelectronics and Nanophotonics at the London Centre for Nanotechnology (Affiliated to the UCL Electronic & Electrical Engineering Department) has been awarded the 2013 Moseley Medal and Prize from the Institute of Physics.

This prize is awarded to early-career researchers for exceptional work in experimental physics and Dr. Morton wins this for his contributions to experimental quantum control of electron and nuclear spins towards applications in quantum technologies.

On winning the prize, Dr. Morton said “"In my career so far, I've been very fortunate to work with fantastic individuals across both ends of the spectrum: from the expert gurus in the field, to bright and enthusiastic students. A big thanks to all these people, and of course to the IoP!"
