2013 Signal Processing Letter Best Paper Award

Paper on Collaborative-Relay Beamforming wins top award

Dr Kit Wong and co-authors on a research paper titled "Collaborative-Relay Beamforming with Perfect CSI: Optimum and Distributed Implementation" have won the 2013 SPS Signal Processing Letters Best Paper Award from the IEEE Signal Processing Society. The award aims to honour the author(s) of a letter article of exceptional merit and broad interest on a subject related to the Society's technical scope.

Gan Zheng, Kai-Kit Wong, Arogyaswami Paulraj, and Bjorn Ottersten "Collaborative-Relay Beamforming with Perfect CSI: Optimum and Distributed Implementation" - IEEE Signal Processing Letters, Volume: 16, No. 4, April 2009

Dr Wong said: "This award is particularly meaningful to me because this paper publishes the work led and conducted in UCL. The first author of the paper was my postdoc in UCL and he is now Lecturer at Essex. I am the second author. The third and fourth authors are my collaborators from Stanford University and University of Luxembourg."

The Award Ceremony will be at the IEEE flagship conference ICASSP 2014 in May in Italy and will be presented by 2014-15 President, Alex Acero.
