2017 IEEE Dennis J. Picard Medal for Radar Technologies and Applications

Awarded to Professor Hugh Griffiths

The 2017 IEEE Dennis J. Picard Medal has been awarded to Professor Hugh Griffths, for "Technical leadership and exceptional contributions to multistatic radar"

For nearly a century, the IEEE Awards Program has paid tribute to researchers, inventors, innovators, and practitioners whose exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on technology, society, and the engineering profession. Each year the IEEE Awards Board recommends a small number of outstanding individuals for IEEE's most prestigious honours.

Professor Sarah Spurgeon, UCL Electronic & Electrical Engineering Head of department, said:

"This is the highest award made by the IEEE in the area and is a great honour for both Hugh and EEE. I am sure you will all wish to join me in sending warmest congratulations to Hugh."
