IET Kelvin Lecture: Professor Sir Michael Pepper

'Manipulating Electrons - The Engineering of Physics'

Professor Sir Michael Pepper, FRS, FREng, Pender Professor of Nanoelectronics in the Department and Honorary Professor of Physics gave the IET Kelvin Lecture 2015 on 27th October at The Royal Institution. He discussed the progress on the application of semiconductor devices and technology for exploration of fundamental physical phenomena in his lecture titled 'Manipulating Electronics - The Engineering of Physics'. He presented a summary on the present uses of such devices, including effects based on the use of electrostatic confinement for inter-dimensional transitions and quantisation phenomena.
