UCL Avalanche Radar research featured in BBC4's 'Dangerous Earth' TV series

Available on BBC iPlayer

Congratulations to Professor Paul Brennan, Head of the Sensors, Systems and Circuits group at UCL EEE. His group's work and radar system for measuring and detecting avalanches was featured in the first episode of the new BBC4 TV series 'Dangerous Earth', now available to view on the BBC IPlayer at:

In the programme, Dr Helen Czerski (UCL Mechanical Engineering) looks at the anatomy of an avalanche. From shocking eyewitness footage from within an avalanche, to detailed CT scans showing the microscopic changes that cause them, we can now capture exactly what happens as snow transforms into a deadly and unpredictable danger.
