Electronic Engineering with Communications Engineering MEng

bullet point 4 years bullet point UCAS Code: H613 bullet point UCL UCAS Code: UCL U80

The development of rapid and ubiquitous communications has done much to shape our modern lives and will continue to do so. The final two years of this programme allow students to specialise in communications engineering by studying key topics covering devices for Optical and Wireless Communications, Digital Signal Processing, and Communications Networks. Third and fourth-year students choose options from a wide range of Electronic Engineering subjects and may select courses from other departments such as Computer Science and Management Science and Innovation (MS&I)

This programme is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Specialist knowledge to Masters level is required for full Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, which can be achieved through this four-year MEng.

This programme includes an individual third-year project, and a major, industrially-linked, group design project in the final year which will typically be in a subject closely related to communications.

All the degree programmes have a common first and second year which cover material fundamental to Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Students specialise in their third and fourth years according to individual degree programme and it is possible for students to switch between programmes (with the exception of the International Programme) at any time up to the end of their second year.
