IET Accreditation for all programmes
The department's exciting new Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP) for our undergraduate degree programmes has been accredited by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). Now all our programmes, both undergraduate and postgraduate have been accredited for the next 5 years. There are many benefits for students choosing IET accredited degree programmes. Accredited programmes have been audited and tested to be sure that they reach a standard to be benchmarked as a course that offers its students a top level of education. The criteria the programme has to meet is based on requirements of the Engineering Council UK - the same organisation that sets the requirements for EngTech, ICTTech, IEng and CEng status. Areas that are looked at in-depth include projects, staffing, resources, quality assurance, student support and most importantly the programme's structure and technical depth.
Head of UCL Electronic and Electrical Engineering Professor Alwyn Seeds praised Dr David Selviah's hard work and organisation of the accreditation process: "I would like to thank David most warmly for his outstanding leadership of this process. Thanks also to all academic and administrative staff who put in so much hard work to secure this result.
