Research Associate in Radar Systems
We wish to recruit a Research Associate from 1 November 2013 or as soon as possible
thereafter, to work on a project supported by the IET A F Harvey Research Prize. The project
involves the measurement and characterisation of bistatic radar clutter and targets.
The post is funded for 3 years in the first instance.
The successful candidate should hold, or be about to obtain, an EngD or PhD and have a first
degree in an engineering or physical sciences subject. The post requires substantial research
experience in the area of bistatic radar systems, particularly maritime radar, targets and
clutter, and in the conduct of experimental radar trials.
The post is Grade 7, Research Associate, salary range £32,375 - £39,132 (including London
Allowance of £2,834 pa).
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD/EngD; if this is not
the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6 (salary £28,338 - £29,881
per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the
