Grade 7: £34,056 - £41,163

Inclusive of London Allowance of £2980

We wish to recruit a Senior IT & Systems Administrator to work in UCL’s Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. The position is available immediately on a fixed term contract of 18 months.  The position’s salary is on UCL’s Grade 7 £34,056 - £41,163 (inclusive of London Allowance of £2,980) per annum.

Reporting to the IT Manager, the postholder will be responsible for supporting the departmental service desk and maintaining a good quality of service in the departmental computing lab as well as responding to support requests and queries from staff and students in the department. This will involve providing installation, repair and support for IT and Computer hardware and software within the department in order to deliver up-to-date and stable computing facilities for all staff and students.

Applicants should hold a first degree or have equivalent experience in a Computing / IT subject or a related discipline as well as substantial knowledge of the configuration and diagnosis of both hardware and software relating to Windows, Linux and OS X. The successful applicant should also have excellent time management skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems from ‘end to end’, from the desktop to the server.
