in brief...
I was born in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, in 1977. I was a student
at the English School from 1989 to 1996 where i did my GCSEs and
A'Levels. One of the most memorable activities at high school was the
infamous radio club (callsign 5B4ES), an amateur radio society, for which
I served as the vice chairman. Before persuing my studies at the University
of Surrey, I served as an officer (2nd Lieutenant) at the armed forces in
Cyprus, where I was running a tank platoon of 20 men, after graduating the
Military School for Officers in Athens. I began my university studies in
1998 and completed a BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and
an MSc in Communications, Networks and Software. After a year in the IT
industry I returned to Surrey University (Centre for Communication
Systems Research - CCSR) where I studied for a PhD in policy-based
network management and worked on a number of national and European
research projects. Since 2008, I've been a research fellow at the Networks
and Services Research Laboratory (NSRL), UCL.
