Dr. Robert Killey

Robert Killey was born in London in 1969. He received the BEng degree in Electronic and Communications Engineering at the University of Bristol in 1992, and the MSc in Microwaves and Optoelectronics at UCL in 1994.
He obtained the DPhil degree at the University of Oxford , where he worked on InGaAsP Fabry-Perot optical modulators for soliton control and generation (supervised by Prof Gareth Parry, a Director of the IRC for Semiconductor Materials, now based at Imperial College, Physics Department).

His main research interests include
- modelling and experimental investigation of the effects of fibre nonlinearity on high bit-rate WDM data transmission
- analysis of wavelength routing in high capacity optically amplified WDM networks
