Sign up for the departmental newsletter

We send out mails every few months to keep our friends and contacts updated about the work we are doing. Please register to find out about key events and research from the UCL Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering. We will of course respect your privacy and not distribute your data onwards, and you may unsubscribe yourself at any time.

What we need

The Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, UCL will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect your name and email address. We do not collect any other types of personal information or location based information.

Why we need it

We need to know this basic personal data in order to provide you with our departmental newsletter. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.

What we do with it

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK, however we send our newsletter using the MailChimp service, which is hosted in the US. (MailChimp publish information about their GDPR data protection compliance). No 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.

How long we keep it

We will keep your personal data for as long as we are publishing our newsletter, or until you inform us that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter. All copies of the newsletter will include the option to unsubscribe. Any information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
