Jorrel Dawoodi at the SET Student of the Year awards with John Mitchell of UCL and Angus Murray who was a member of the IET judging panel.

The 3rd September saw the annual Science, Engineering & Technology (SET) Student of the Year Awards at which Jorrel Dawoodi, who is in the 3rd year of his MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering at UCL, was shortlisted for the ARM Award for the Best Electronic Engineering Student. This is an outstanding achievement and the only UCL student to be shortlisted this year.

The Science, Engineering & Technology Student of the Year Awards are established as Europe's most important awards for science and engineering undergraduates. The award for the best Electronic Engineering Student is sponsored by ARM, who designs the technology that lies at the heart of advanced digital products, from wireless, networking and consumer entertainment solutions to imaging, automotive, security and storage devices.

The prize for best student was awarded to Steffi Sesuraj of Southampton for: Design, Fabrication and Characterisation of a Nano-Plasmonic back reflector.
