Indoor Football League
This is the semi-official home page for the Senate House indoor 4-a-side League.
The league has been running since the mid eighties and comprises of teams from
UCL departments, Senate House itself and the odd local firm.
This site will soon NOT be biased towards all things Computer Centre FC.
CCFC 1997 CHAMPIONS
Computer Centre FC won the Senate House Championship today in a potentially
upsetting game against their closest rivals the Logica Bamboozlers. CCFC's six
point league is unassailable and can now enjoy sitting out the rest of the
season on top of the league.
SOCIAL EVENT
Last week's social event went well for all concerned apart from a few sore
heads the following day. Firstly we must thank Akhter Computers for their
sponsorship of the league this year and to Aegis, the computer security
cage company, for their sponsorship of the Aegis cup.
As from next year the league will be sponsored by the Little Red Book, a
computer consumable company. The Logica cup will become the player of the year
award and replaced by the Ecogen Cup, sponsored by its namesake, a printer
toner recycling company. Many thanks to sponsors past, present and future and
to Simon Walsh for acting as the league's representative in such matters.
There will be more information on the respective companies within the near
future.
NEWS
Unfortunately Senate House Operators cannot guarantee a team to fulfill the
fixtures on a regular basis next season. As result of such the league is now
looking for nominations from new teams, preferably within UCL, that would fill
the vacant league space. It is an unfortunate loss as OPS have always been a
strong side in the league and the effects of work pressures this season have
been reflected in their position in the league. However, the team members have
expressed interest in playing for existing teams when they can and you should
approach them during the remaining fixtures. Any prospective teams can mail me
at: ccaastl@ucl.ac.uk and I will
elaborate on the ins and outs of the league.
NEW TEAM ON THE BLOCK? - NEARLY!
There has been a good responce to the open place in the league for next
season. As yet, any of three teams will fill the gap left by Senate House
Operators. Electrical Engineering and Molecular Pathology from UCL and a team
from Birkbeck are in the running. Over the close season the board will decide
as to who the most appropriate candidate is - watch this space!
