WEEK 4:UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON HOSPITAL 1 COMPUTER CENTRE FC 6
attendance:24
A well earned victory for CCFC who had to battle against the referee as well as
the opposition. The first half was classic CCFC with Ayling letting nothing
through, Walsh's movement on and off the ball was superb and Hajisavi took his
scoring opportunities clinically. Bates used his possesion to full effect by
throwing some excellent balls to the outfield players.
CCFC opened their account after some good pressure forced a defender to play
the ball inside his keeper's area and a penalty was given. Walsh blasted the
kick in and it was 1 - 0. Hajisavvi was sharp in a run down the wing and gave
the keeper no chance in preventing the scoreline increasing in CCFC's favour.
Ayling then decided he wanted to be on the score sheet as well and latched on
to a ball squeezed across the area by Hajisavvi sending the keeper the wrong
way. The game was completely controlled by CCFC throughout the first
half with only UCLH's last ditch shot blocking stopping all but one Hajisavvi
effort going in off the wall.
The same side stayed on after half time and quickly continued where they had
left off. Hajisavvi craked his first hat-trick of the season, again working
out his angles to dumbfound the keeper with an of the wall shot. Walsh added
some extra daylight between Hajisavvi and himself in the leading goalscorer
stakes with another goal. With victory pretty much assured Neal Christie
decided to put on his two subs Banks and Landers. CCFC's game quickly swapped
from attack to defending as the two subs failed to get into the swing of the
game. Landers gave away a penalty after playing the ball in the area. The
penalty was hit against the bar and Landers thought he had rectified his mistake
by latching on to the loose ball and scoring. But the referee didn't see that
the ball had hit the post bar even though play had stopped to take it.
The referee continued in his dubious desision mode after not only failing to
award a free kick to CCFC for a back pass but also giving one to UCLH for a
hand being waved. Landers was unaware of the "waving of the hand" offence
even though it was a gesture for his team-mate to move into a better
position. UCLH made full use of the free kick to prevent CCFC holding
on to a clean sheet.
