After the high of last week's game against BAM, SOAS felt the lows again in a sobering experience against ZOO. Starting with only three players SOAS did well to hold ZOO to a 1 - 0 scoreline, ZOO were hardly pushing the matter in the knowledge that the points were theirs in the long run. Justin arrived just before half time to boost SOAS's numbers and ZOO upped their game to counter the new balance.
Half time passed by and SOAS, lifted by their first half performance, set about another giant killing performance. At least that was the idea, the marking disappeared and ZOO took full advantage scoring two quick goals to thwart any SOAS ideas on points. The marking did improve but ZOO allowed very little in the way of shooting oportunities and finished the game off two minutes from time with a forth goal. SOAS remain bottom.
OPS slapped out a full team to take on the league leaders, CCFC after a series of indifferent displays showed those present just how well they can play. Both sides started energetically but CCFC took first blood when Hajisavvi cut a ball to Ayling on the edge of the box for him to wallop home on 1 minute. Walsh half volleyed the second a minute later after the ball bounced to him just outside the box. OPS tryed to come back but CCFC had pulled their marking back up to scratch, something they had been lacking the last couple of weeks. With the tight marking came some excellent movement and it was surprising the score remained 2 - 0 up to half time, Ray was reduced to taking shots from his own half and his team mates were suffocated from any shooting oportunites.
CCFC continued their charge with Hajisavvi looking clever with some tight play, after a minute he and Walsh played a bit of table tennis as the ball rebounded by the goal three times. A similar piece of play lead to Walsh cutting the ball back across the goal for Hajisavvi to deposite in the goal for 3 - 0. Things grew heated as these old rivals battled on, Hajisavvi lost his cool and was booked in the forth minute for an overly physical tackle. A minute later Ray finally saw one of his long range efforts pay off after a wasted opportunity when he was clean through a minute earlier. Heagney, off-sited watched the ball fly past after 11 minutes of dealing well with the little that was thrown at him. Ayling's front man role payed off well as he grabbed a second and CCFC's forth in the last few minutes to take CCFC four points clear - an essential result as BAM comes up next week for a four pointer.
A different but not unrecognisable GEOG side stepped out to take full points this week from ACCTS. The first half was pretty tight but GEOG had the runnings against a lethargic ACCTS. On 5 minutes GEOG's man looked up while in space, picked his spot a slammed a presision shot in the bottom right from the half way line.
The second half started a little more lively with the first scorer adding to his tally with a half volley to make it 2 - 0. GEOG's scoring was complete on the twelth minute when a loose ball was quickly put in the goal to finish the highlights of a solid but un-engaging game. I was second ref so the notes are a bit sparse.
