WEEK 11: 4/12/96: Results:

Geography 5 V SOBEK 2

Logica Bamboozlers 4 V Zoology 2

I joined this game about half way through the first half, which was a shame as what I saw was a great competition. The first and third placed teams where at 2 - 1 to BAM when I arrived and both teams were pushing the ball around with great vigour and excellent control.

ZOO pulled back the equalizer and raised some hope for the CCFC team as it would have pulled BAM into striking distance for when the top two sides meet next Wednesday. But BAM quickly responded with one of the best team made goals I've seen so far this season. A frustrated ZOO pushed for a while but seemed to run out of steam as BAM held firm and blocked most of the direct routes to goal. They sealed it with a goal around 2 minutes from time. It should be an excellent game next week if tempers are controlled.

School of Oriental and African Studies 0 V University London Union 7

After the display put on by the previous two teams this was going to be hard pushed to emulate it. The game looked to be a low scoring one as both teams scrapped it out with the ball in the air as much as it was on the ground causing too many stoppages for any rhythm. Once the deadlock was broken the goals flooded in and SOAS lost all attacking pattern and almost resorted to forming a line in front of goal to sheild it from the barrage of shots ULU were aiming at it. A scrappy game but some good goals.
