BIRK got their first taste of victory and a lesson in cup football 4-a-side style. Instead of the frantic FA cup pace a cup game in this league means a slow pace in which to play the field properly. Those extra few minutes can finish you off in either half. ZOO were up there in the physical stakes themselves only they managed to string together the killer one-two's that are the fall of many a team.
Poor marking can also go some way to explaining the scoreline in a game where the referee's whistle played the largest role. ZOO went two up and where giving BIRK the run around, but BIRK clawed back and took the lead. This rush of blood lasted most of the game and ZOO began to play in between the over charged tactics of their adverseries.
ZOO went on to lead by 5 clear goals and although BIRK started to claw back
they continued to conceed and ZOO are through to the next round.
BIRK: Phalp, Card, Kettle(Burgis), Tisi.
ZOO: Cummings, Brandon, Dermas(Parsons), Wood.
This was by no means the walkover of the previous week and the scoreline flatters CCFC's offence. Their defence however, deserves hearty accolades. Heagney was troubled only once in the CCFC goal and that effort was going over.
It took untill the 6th minute for CCFC to score against a UCLH side making the extra defensive effort. A looping pass from Banks saw Hajisavvi Half volley past the keeper. A minute later Hajisavvi shot against the post and Banks followed up with an easy tuck shot.
A comparitively calm game compared to the previous one produced no more goals
untill the last minute. First Ayling found space and cracked a shot in off the
wall, dumbfounding the keeper. Then Hajisavvi added another goal to his
impressive season's tally as he won the ball and put it under the keeper.
CCFC: Heagney, Ayling, Banks, Hajisavvi.
UCLH: Slattery, Maxwell, O'Driscoll, Pieris(Walker).
