S/H UNIVERSITY INDOOR LEAGUE

Rules (Amendments)

Free kicks

-All free kicks shall be direct.
-The team that is awarded a free kick can take it as soon as the referee indicates where it should be taken (i.e. where the infringement was committed).
-No member of the opposing team may stand closer than 3 foot from the ball.
-If said player does not stand at the required distance the team awarded the free kick may ask the referee to enforce the 3 foot rule.
If that player does not comply with this directive after being instructed twice, he shall be booked.
-The team requesting the enforcement of the 3 feet rule may only take their free kick after the referee has blown the whistle to restart the game.

Bookings

-There will no fine for bookings or players being sent off.
-Any player who receives a red card during a match will be sent off the field of play and will automatically receive a three match ban.
-Any player who receives two yellow cards in one match will be sent off the field of play and will be suspended for one match..
-Any player who receives one yellow card in a match but avoids getting another card/booking in his next five games will not have the original card count towards a suspension.
If that player receives another yellow within the five games span he will be suspended for one match.

Goals

-A goal is scored when the whole ball crosses the line that lies between the goal posts.


08/10/98:

Senate House who? You may well ask. Due to a lucrative sponsorship deal with Unison, Accounts have beaten Manchester Utd to the corparate sell-out deal. Rumours of a Dillions Computer FC are as yet unfounded.

FIXTURE CHANGE

The deadline has now passed for teams wishing to change fixture dates they cannot make. Only ZOO felt the need and the new fixture list is available.

20/1/99:

The first suspension of the season see's the five game clearance rule come into play for the first time in the league. Elliott Howard-Jones of UCLH is the unfortunate victim. After picking up his first booking against BAM last year his second booking today means he has a one game suspension imposed upon him.


10/3/99:

DALEN LTD complete sponsorship deal

The League is very happy to announce a generous sponsorship for this year's trophies. Dalen Ltd have covered the costs of the now vast array of awards to be presented at the end of season ceremony. A hearty thanks to Allen Whitworth and all those at Dalen Ltd. and to Simon Walsh for again aranging a rewarding association with external companies.

End of Season Party

The Senate House League End of Season Party will be held in Room 101, University London Union, Malet Street on Wednesday the 28th July 1999.

The event starts at 6pm with the trophy presentation commencing from 7:30pm.

Feel free to drag your team along plus any friends/official fan club your team has. The evening will be the usual mix of alcohol, heated football discussion and a chance to thank the various sponsors for their welcome support of the league. Opportunities to bribe the referees to aid your progress next season will be available.
