UNIVERSITY 4-A-SIDE LEAGUE RULES SUMMARY FAIL TO TURN UP TO A FIXTURE: 4 pounds fine, loose by default 3 - 0. MATCH LENGTH: 7 minutes each way league. 10 minutes each way cup - if drawing at 20 minutes the golden goal rule applies. Penalties will be taken if given before end of time allowed. GOALKEEPER CHANGE: Allowed, but referee must be informed before change. SUBSTITUTES: Must have shirts on already, only two allowed on during a play stoppage when the referee authorises it. INJURED PLAYER: With the consent of the opposing team's captain an already used sub can come on to replace that injured player. FREE KICKS: The opposing player should stand a minimum of 3 feet away from the ball. Undue ignorance, ie ref continuously repremanding the offending player will result in a booking. FOUL PLAY: Charging an opponent, kicking/attempting to kick a player, tripping (or being under the influence of any other illegal substance (joke)). Sliding tackles, fisticuffs, holding or pushing and use of the hands/arms to control the ball. All offences may result in a booking. A Goalkeeper infringing a player will result in a free kick three feet from the area. If a deliberate goalkeeping foul a penalty and booking will be given. MISCONDUCT: Players entering/leaving field without referee's consent. Showing by word or action disent towards a referee's decision. Time wasting and ungentlemanly conduct. Offences may result in a booking. UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT: Violent behaviour, serious foul play, using foul/abusive language, persistent misconduct after being booked. All result in a sending off. DISCIPLINARY ACTION: Yellow Card: 5 pounds fine, 2 Yellow cards = 2 match ban. Red Card: 10 pounds fine, three match ban. All bans are effective emediately after the match where caution took place. PENALTY KICKS: Goalkeeper cannot move untill ball kicked. One step kick for penalty taker. GOALKEEPER: In possesion of the ball the keeper must return the ball to play quickly by throwing the ball underarm below head hieght. No kicking. The ball can only be passed back to the keeper after touching two separate players on either team. GOAL AREA: Only the goalkeeper is allowed in the goal area. Free kicks for attackers entering and penalties against defenders entering the area to gain advantage. SIDELINE CONDUCT: Any player or substitute (even if not used) who's games occur on the days fixtures fall under the referee's jurisdiction and are subject misconduct rules. KIT: Team colours, nothing of danger to other players and lightweight footwear without black soles.
